Thank you Karen Housner for such a special treat, the antique quilts you shared with the Civil War group were absolutely wonderful. The quilts dated from 1850 to 1930/1940. The creativity of the quiltmakers from the 19th century was truly amazing. Considering how these quilts must have been constructed, the hexagon quilt with it's fabulous design. It is sad that the person who
constructed this work of art is totally unknown.
For this reason Karen encouraged us to label all of our creations, no matter the size.Several of the club members brought their antique quilt treasures. It was interesting to hear some of the quilts stories. Thank you ladies for sharing your quilts with the group.
