Getting Caught UP

It's been sometime since I've sat down & written. I've wanted to "blog" weekly but somehow the days are filled & the next thing you know it's been a month.
This is never what I intended. So let's see if I can catch up with everything that has been going on; without writing a book.

First let me thank everyone for all your prayers for my son Nick. He became very ill with viral meningitis & I flew to Austin to help my daughter in law; Michelle with Nick and my two grandchildren; Killian (4) & Addison (AJ, 2). I forgot how busy 2 small children can keep you. Between making sure no one else got sick (lots of hand sanitizer). By the time the week was done my hands were so dry; reminded me of my days back working at the hospital.
My daughter in law did come down with a viral cold but we were able to keep the kids healthy.
Not sure how we did that! Anyway, Nick & Michelle are tired but getting back to everyday routine. Let me just say; Mom/Grandma is glad to be back home & getting back into my regular routine..

Shop Hop 2009 was lots of fun; seeing quilters from around the county/state. It was fun to get to see/meet enthusiastic quilters. We demo'd another fantastic product The Clearly Perfect Angles. It's an vinyl cling that goes on your sewing machine to sew 45 degree angles. No mark method for half square triangles, flying geese, snowball blocks. If any of you remember the Angler 2?? This is an update & user friendly tool.
If you haven't seen it make sure to ask us next time you come in. This is a real time saver & very accurate!!!

Congratulations to the winners:

$100.00 Gift Certificate

Last time I wrote we were in the beginning phase of our re-model. Well it's DONE (for 5 weeks) & it is FANTASTIC! I'm not just saying that (I'm a bit bias in my opinion). We get compliments from customers everyday on our new look.
The UPS driver has been stopping everyday with new fabrics, books, & patterns.
Our new Civil War collections are here & boy are they fantastic! We've put these in Fat Quarter Bundles for you.
Simply Baby collection from Windham.. Pastel colors of animals, gingham checks, stripes... Great for diaper bags, burp cloths and yep a quilt.
Mill House Inn from Fig Tree; soft floral & polka dots. These would look great in anything..
Lots of pre-cut fabrics; Jelly rolls, layer cakes, charm packs are available.
On Friday; UPS delivered Blessings by Brannock & Patek from MODA. It will be in the computer & out on the floor this week.
Two new books came: Fat Quarter Quilts, lots of small projects that our new fabrics will be perfect for.
Candy Cane Lane: a terrific collection of Christmas blocks.
